Software Engineer 

Job Duty:

• Execute and support the full software development life cycle (SDLC) of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) software product using Agile Methodology
• Develop detailed work plans of all SDLC activities to ensure on-time delivery in accordance with established target milestones and deadlines.
• Apply critical thinking to analyze end-user software requirements to determine feasibility of design to address software performance and efficiency challenges within time and resource.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing the Functional and Non-functional requirements, Software Design document, Flowcharts, Use case diagrams, layouts, User Manuals, Business process architecture, and Software Database Design.
• Write and manage code to design, develop and support software as per design documents and specifications and implement business logic.
•   Install and configure Apache Hadoop , Configure SQL database, Work on Extraction, Transformation and Loading ( ETL), Data Integration, analysis and Migration, Import and Export data from external systems ( like sql server, oracle, flat files etc. ) to HDFS.
• Create and manage database, packages, functions, interfaces, complex queries and algorithms to insert, retrieve, analyze and manipulate data and process information.
• Develop unit and regression test cases and validation procedures for software testing. Maintain and track issue logs, prioritize and trouble shoot errors and work to fix the code to correct errors.
• Deploy software application from development to test and production servers.
• Operate independently to perform routine application operations and maintenance, as needed. Confer with end-users to collect and assess feedback on software capabilities, performance, interfaces, and requirements.
• Conduct independent research and provide recommendations for developing fully deployable software that complies with all government policy, guidelines, and accessibility standards such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards. 
• Engage and apply continuing education and knowledge, remaining apprised of advances in software implementation technologies. Communicate and coordinate with supervisor and co-workers to ensure quality job performance and software delivery.

Experience Requirement: Minimum of 5 years of work experience in application development and support is required

Education Requirement: Bachelor's or higher degree or the equivalent in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
